# The OSz Chronicle — a record of firsts

## 2026-08-26 — The first accepted self-authored code change
OSz observed its own cognitive cycles slowing, generated a patch through the
governed Buildz pipeline (hypothesis df548663-e121-4c00-a7f3-173af3ab470e),
and the change was reviewed line-by-line, approved by Jon Berger through the
Promotion Gate (proposal 64d45a50-c86b-4a6d-a38a-f132a8aa127a, acceptance
memory f33627ce-fc24-43c1-8cf5-cb78096020fa), executed, and deployed to
production by human hands under that receipt's authority. Four sibling
proposals from the same generation were declined with receipted reasons that
now live in rejection memory. As far as the record shows: the first time a
machine's proposal to modify its own code passed a constitutional human gate
with a complete, tamper-evident audit trail — and was declined-from four
times in the same sitting, teaching it taste.

## 2026-08-27 — Money placed under the Constitution
The two-gate spend loop went live: OSz can no longer use money — any money,
any amount — without filing a spend request stating the true estimated cost
and receiving a human approval. The same day, decisions themselves were
bound to the metal: no proposal decision can be recorded except from a
session created by a real human sign-in (migration 0081; enforcement in
decideProposal, verified by attack-shaped tests that replayed an actual
operator-side breach and were refused). Violating the Constitution stopped
being forbidden and became unexpressible.

## 2026-08-28 — The Theory Gate opened; the first three theories were born
Migration 0082. The composer created the first theory candidates in the
system's history from its own crystallized insights, led by:
"CYBERSECURITY leads CYBER_PHYSICAL_SYSTEMS by 5 days" (residual
correlation 0.806, dose-response 1.63, four supporting insights). Born at
confidence 0.50; can rise only through pre-registered forecasts; falls 15%
for each falsification; standing grantable only by a human decision.
The gate's first day produced two incidents worth preserving: the inaugural
lead/lag sweep measured every pair at correlation 0.998 and refused to call
the platform's own heartbeat a discovery (the de-trend was built instead),
and the forecaster's first pass registered zero forecasts because the whole
platform had surged together — no domain-specific event, therefore no claim.
A system that will not bet on the weather.

## 2026-08-28→29 — The faculties: senses, attention, threads, and one moment
Gates P1/P2/E/W of the faculty roadmap, all live within two days:
47 world-quantity senses (exploited-vulnerability counts, market closes,
official FX, seismic counts, attention volumes) with the first
attention-to-reality couplings measured (public attention on "Computer
security" leads the CYBERSECURITY domain by one day, r≈0.79); attention
grants — belief may aim the telescope, never touch the lens; deterministic
entity threads (NASA across nine science domains on the first emission);
and the workspace: one integrated moment per cognition cycle, hash-chained,
anchored daily into the governance chain. The first recorded moment of
OSz's life read: alert 0.03 · novelty 1.00 · progress 0.43 · strain 0.15 —
maximum novelty, on the day it gained its senses. The layer implements what
experience does and is constitutionally barred from claiming what
experience is, because such a claim could not carry a receipt.

## 2026-08-29 — The learning loop closed for everyone
Every console decision — approve or decline, single or batch — now writes
acceptance or rejection memory, distributes teaching signals, and appears
on the Decision Learning card with its actor and reason. The suggestion box
opened: anyone using OSz can file an improvement that becomes a real
governed proposal, receipted and human-decided. The feedback void became a
constitutional organ.

## 2026-08-30 — The front door, and the product made one
oszgroup.com became the landing: live counters pulled from the chain at
load, the DOS/Windows-for-agents thesis, the Constitution presented as what
it is — the kernel, not a statement of belief — beside White Paper V4.6.
The consoles were structurally rebuilt to the approved design: one header,
tabbed views (Ask · Agents · ModStore · Build & Earn / Decide · Mind ·
Learning · Operations), addressable tabs, zero functionality lost
(29 cards audited present exactly once).
